Make Stuff Monday ~ One Small Change

Make Stuff Monday ~ One Small Change

Today I am making a change and hoping that you will join me!!

Suzy, one of my Eco blogging buddies from hipmountainmamablog came up with a groovy idea to kick-start a green year through “one small change”.

In her own words: “We want to challenge each of you to make 1 change each month leading up to Earth Day (April 22, 2010).  It can be small or it can be huge, but all we ask is that you decide on something you will do to make a positive green impact and follow through with it.  If everyone makes 4 changes between January and April, this can have a huge effect”.

I have gone back and forth between different ideas for our family and have been so impressed with some of the other bloggers and their green choices (click here for Suzy’s incredible NOT using any toilet paper post)!  I feel completely enthused about my choice.

Our family has rarely used our dryer for our clothes in the previous two months. SGD (smilinggreendad) built me an awesome clothes-line out our back door. I was so excited to use it until the first snow fall came and then we were forced to re-think our strategy.

Here is our new(ish)dryer!!!

So for this month, my green goal is to get rid of the word RARELY! Really, who needs it? You either do or you don’t right! Well, at least for drying clothes in my energy-sucking, meter-spinning clothes-shrinking beast of a dryer. *I mean that with love and respect*

So goodbye YOU

and Hellooooo Gorgeous *warm fuzzies*

did you ever think an ironing board could look so sexy ;)

This ironing board is not only going to save us lots of mulah, but we are conserving energy and adding great humidity into our home this winter in a natural eco-friendly manner. So yay for non-static hair and clothes that won’t  *ZAP* you with what feels like 220 volts of electricity! Bonus? It helps our E’s skin so much too! His Eczema is still doing so well with hardly a trace remaining, (if interested in how his Eczema has cleared click here) but I think his skin will always be a little dry and sensitive, as is mine, and the extra humidity makes things much more manageable for all of us!

My eco-goal? No dryer AT ALL!! *pinkie promise*

So do you think may want to jump on board? What could you improve…even if it is a small change? I would love to hear your thoughts!!!
