Make Stuff Monday ~
We made Naturally Nora’s brownies! Oh. Yes. We. Did.
I am so excited for smilinggreenmom’s first ever review with a giveaway!! Before we get to the F-R-E-E stuff…let me just tell you a bit about Naturally Nora and her naturalicious baking mixes and frosting.
Naturally Nora really does exist – she (Nora) is a midwestern mama who, after trying to decipher a food label with so many artificial ingredients, set out on a mission to create delicious and convenient boxed cake and frosting mixes, that she and the rest of us could feel good about serving to our families.
Nora worked hard to find the exact ingredients that would not only be healthy, but tasty too! She states: “It sounds easy, but I assure you it wasn’t! Finding unbleached, un-bromated wheat flour was hard. I also learned that the “perfectly moist” texture that kids love is typically the result of thickening agents and chemical fillers. All-natural cocoa (processed without alkali) isn’t readily available. And the vanilla. Oh, the vanilla! That alone was months of sampling before finding the ideal one. And I still wasn’t done….”
From a health conscious and busy mom’s perspective, I would say that Nora has done a terrific job of creating a convenient and kid-approved treat! I was so thrilled to have the opportunity to review her products and even more surprised when I opened this…
It was a tough choice on which one to make first (they all looked so good), but E and M chose the fudgy brownies with the Alot’a Dots Frosting. (Cute names too eh?) Super easy to make – and they came out looking and tasting delish! The only bummer part for us was that E was pretty disappointed that he could not eat them as a food-allergic child. They are produced in a facility that also uses milk, soy and tree nuts. However, they are free of dairy and soy!
So, dang.
Please don’t cry though – I made a good vegan brownie for the little dude while the rest of us gobbled up Nora’s! Cuz that’s how we roll.
Smileys for Nora:
No artifical colors or flavors
No preservatives
No hydrogenated oils
All products are Kosher
All Natural ingredients
Dairy and Soy Free
Nora is super nice

I Wish that the facility was nut free!
