Me: Awesome! The Play-offs are today?
Hubs: Yeees. And you can tell the kids there will be no Spongebob today. We are watching football.
Me: We?
several hours later and the phone ringing………
Hubs: Who is it?
Me: Oh it’s my mom! I bet she wanted to call since the Colts won
Hubs: YOU BETTER TELL HER THE TRUTH!!! *grinning ear-to-ear*
Me: Waaaa??? (guilty smile)
Hubs: Oh don’t even act all “Yay, the Colts won! Wasn’t it a great game n all”. You better tell her you didn’t watch it at all and you could care less!
Me: SOOOO NOT TRUE! I totally care! I watched it from the kitchen and over my shoulder while I was on Twitter!
Does this make me a bad person?
Last weekend, being the Hoosier girl that I am, our home was a Colts fest. Hubs had declared the television as “his” for the day and being the big football fan that I am *rolling eyeballs* I knew the occasion called for something foot-ballish to eat. You know – like the messy stuff, spicy or basically anything requiring a beer to wash it down? Yeah – man food.
So, in my quest to make the play-offs meaningful extra fun – I decided to cook up some buffalo hot wings and homemade salsa! Not together. Two totally different dishes – but both foot-ball worthy. I hadn’t made salsa before – but this turned out to be DA BOMB! Word of advice – while cooking, look over your shoulder every few minutes or so and yell out “NICE ONE” so everyone thinks you are watching and interested. Though SGD totally doesn’t buy it. He told on me to my mom? Seriously! Who does that?
Ingredients:
3 large tomatoes
2 onions, diced
1 jalapeno, diced
1 lime, squeezed
3 TBSP Red Wine Vinegar
1 TBSP olive oil
6 TBSP fresh cilantro, stems removed and chopped
Salt to taste
1. Bring a pot of water to a boil and gently place the tomatoes in until submerged. Boil for aprox. 1 min until the skins begin to peel off.
2. Remove tomatoes from the boiling water and run under cool water – pulling the skins off.
3. Core and dice the tomatoes.
4. Add all of the ingredients into a blender and puree!
5. Serve with your favorite corn chips. Don’t forget the man-drinks and for the ladies…..
Nothing goes better with a bowl of spicy salsa and big beefy guys wearing man-tights than a tasty margarita!
Go Colts – they’re the ones in blue, right? Ā (KIDDING FOLKS)

Yummy! Can I still make this if I hate football and there’s never been a game on in our house in the 5 yrs we’ve lived here? Or, does it work for hockey too? Hockey I can deal with, “eh?”
But of-cawse Dawling!
Salsa is always fair-game for all!
Very good article I like your website keep up the amazing posts
In the begining I was hoping the USA was going to come out on top yesterday, but the Canandians were a bit to good for us. Good game Canada!
