It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s….it’s….
A croc egg?
Ah yes – the crew of the Sea Shepherd strikes again! The latest campaign from our beloved Sea Shepherd crew came in the form of hurling crocodile eggs onto the flencing deck of a Japanese whaling ship. There message comes with a serious undertone, but often-times in an undeniably comical fashion!
This “attack” was launched in memory of the late and great Steve Irwin – who their flagship just so happens to be named after. Now before you panic with the image of animal cruelty – these eggs were more like those toys that our kids want for the bath tub. You know, those little things that grow into the shape of an animal when they meet the water? Yeah, these “croc eggs” were just that – only larger scale! When met with the water cannons of the Japanese, the eggs cracked, releasing the “crocs” onto the deck. I am guessing Mr. Irwin would have loved this maneuver!
Each of these eggs were signed by Sea Shepherd supporters for 50.00 – including Steve’s beloved Terri, Bindi and Robert who inscribed their very own personal message! Captain Paul Watson has stated “I cannot think of anything more appropriate for the Steve Irwin to toss onto the bloody flensing decks of the Nisshin Maru than crocodile eggs and baby crocs.” Before Steve passed away, he wanted to join in the efforts to protect the whales with Sea Shepherd – wow, that would have been a force to reckon with!
Steve’s legacy lives on in so many ways still today – and I happen to agree that the “croc attack” would have made him smile! Speaking of his legacy – have you seen little Bindi lately? She is “Bindi the Jungle Girl” at Discovery Kids
She is too cute – and what a great way to encourage your kids to be a “jungle kid” too. Aaaah – that family rawks. What do you think?

If Peter appears in court there is away that all can win and walk away happy and enlightened, a perfect defence. When i jumped on a ship they had a choice Kill me arrest me or go for a drink. I learned something of great value. We had a good drink and dance.
I Can make it happen.
Thanks for sharing this story. I loved watching Steve and his adventures – I always felt there was a kindred spirit out there that would have understood if I jumped up and down and squealed because I just discovered some new to me species of whatever. Miss him. Great way to honor his legacy – and my gosh how that little girl has grown!
Very cool story. I love seeing Bindi on TV. She is such a great kid, and has the talent of her dad!
