Make Stuff Monday ~ Beauty From Your Pantry

Okay ladies! Here you have it – a quickie in your ktichen! Oh you little dirty-birdy, not THAT kind of quickie! I am talking about a super easy mask and hair conditioner that you can throw together with just a few ingredients straight from your pantry!

What do I need, you ask? Funny – I was hoping you might want to know! *snickering*

1. Olive Oil, check

2. Raw Honey, check

3. Organic Eggs, check

In just one simple step, you can brighten, freshen and tone your skin while giving your locks a nice conditioning too! I actually tried this recipe a month or so ago using just honey and olive oil until I saw the article that the lovely and talented Patricia Biesen wrote up on smilinggreenmom in the Chicago Eats Allergy-Free Blog. She shared:

“If you are newly diagnosed with food allergies and have found yourself with a fridge full of food you can no longer eat, you can use those foods in some outstanding hair care remedies. Those useless eggs, milk, honey and sugar can actually make you pretty (or handsome). My hair formerly known as “straw” has been transformed with this honey conditioner!”

Honey Conditioner

Ingredients:

1 tsp honey

2 TBSP Olive oil

1 egg yolk (Do not use a whole egg, egg whites make hair stiff. That’s why punk rock kids use them in their mohawks.)

Mix all ingredients in a small bowl. Massage on hair in small sections. Wrap head with shower cap for 30 minutes. Rinse and shampoo.

But, as I was feeling extra ambitious and having a “I feel frumpy” kind of morning, I decided to just slather it all over my face too! I am happy to say that it not only made my hair feel good, my face felt so firm! I can only imagine how much better my days would be if I put this on my thighs, boobs and butt! We all have days like these don’t we? How great that with just a few natural ingredients from the kitchen, we can feel “de-frumptified” *New rule – I can and will make words up on occasion. Jis cuz! ;)

Alright, go get pretty now! Come back and let me know how fabulous you feel Okay?
