Clementine Art has my Heart!

Clementine Art has my Heart!

Yes, I know. Nothing in comparison to Yeats, or Shakespeare, but I rhymed d#mn it! All those late nights with the kids and Dr. Seuss surely taught me a few things.

Here at SGM, I am always keeping my blue green-eyes on the most nifty eco-friendly products that I think we all might enjoy and things that can make our lives better and our footsteps a bit lighter. That is why I was excited to review Clementine Art, where messy creative kids can be healthy non-toxic kids all in one!

Who wants their wee-ones dabbling in paints where ingredients are top-secret and the only sign of hope is written as “non-toxic”? What the h#ll does that mean? Seriously, I cannot stand to buy things anymore that do not disclose ingredients. Why would they not?  What’s the big secret? I don’t know and perhaps I do not want to know. That is why I choose products carefully…reading ingredients and fine print. Our kids wear helmets on their bikes and sit in booster seats in the car – why then would I expose them to things that might harm them – if I can choose the same product in a bottle that tells me what is really inside. Just my rambling here – stay with me, I do have a point to this rant.

Clementine Art products are safe, natural and non-toxic. They  disclose all of their ingredients and make a conscious effort to help the environment by using recycled and reusable materials when possible! All of their products are produced by responsible manufacturers in the USA with the ultimate goal in mind of inspiring young children “with unique, colorful and well-designed products” (Clementine).

The stats and FAQs are impressive but the true test always occurs when the little hands get ahold of them. Our kids really like their new art supplies and could not believe that the crayons (shaped in what resembles a stone)

were actually crayons. It went something like this:

Kids: Ooooh, they sent us candy?

Me: No (laughing) it is definitely not candy goofy – these are crayons

Kids: But they are so colorful and round…they look like candy. Can I have one?

Me: They are not candy. Seriously!

Kids: Oh.

Kids: So can I have one later then?

…….(two hours later and kids friends come over)

Kids Friends: Oooh you lucky! You have candy! Can I have one?

Me: *slapping forehead*

So, once they realized it really was a pack of crayons and not elephant sized skittles, they got to work! They loved coloring with the little round crayon “stones” and the vibrant naturally scented strawberry, lemon and lime crumble-free soft play-dough! It was fun times over here at the SGM household. Even without candy.

Clementine Art products offer a full-line of non-toxic art supplies including natural paint, glue, modeling dough, crayons, crayon “rocks” and markers! For more information, you can visit them at HERE or on Twitter @clementineart
