“Semi” Wordless Wednesday
Is anyone watching? I really am a green kid who values healthy eating…but I seriously must have this cupcake.
A mommy and her glue gun should never be messed with! I was prepared for any costume mishaps. I told my M that I would make sure to bring my gun to her party and her response? “But mommy, guns are not allowed at school” BAHAHAHA!
and then it happened. The unthinkable. In a covert move, I was able to snap this proof when no one was looking….that’s my leg. Next to a HUGE trash bag!
Yes, I was nominated special forces trash collector. I am so ashamed. It was my duty to add to our poor landfills. Avoiding any embarrassment for our daughter – I wore my biggest smile and followed the teacher’s classroom rules. Oh the agony!
Then we met up with my brother and his kiddos for tricks and treats up at our town square, where all the stores pass out treats!
Crazy energy!
and as we walked along….guess who we saw?
and look at this gorgeous chair I found at one of our consignment stores! I snapped a quick pic to show hubs (who was waiting outside) once I got the kids their candy and out of the store to meet up with all the other adults. Yes, I was on “manner’s” duty too, making sure please and thank you’s were issued consistently. Isn’t it awesome tho? 24.00! Maybe dh will read this an think “Oh Christmas is coming soon. Maybe I should get this for my wife” (hint hint)
and then my hubby and my mom ate all of the children’s candies and went bonkers.
Our beautiful little butterfly with handsome little Luke Skywalker!!
I hope you enjoyed your Halloween!!! What did your family do???

So fun to see your family in Halloween action! I will have to share photos of our annual silly Halloween Haunt! But do tell, what do you do with all the Halloween candy? I am always looking for more mama wisdom.
Hey Lisa
Thanks – we had such fun with the kids! I would love to see pics of yours family – tell me where to find them!!! As for “all” the candy – we don’t have any big secrets but I kind of view it like everything we try and do – moderation…prevention etc. What I mean is that we don’t go to a million houses. We take our kids up-town to a family friendly community trick or treat and they maybe visit like 20 stores who pass out candy. They are excited and happy with those 20 pieces and never feel like they did not get enough by going door-to-door for tons more. We keep it small and simple. I have heard of a great trade-up style parenting method though! For every 5 pieces of candy your child trades in they get 50 cents or something and then whatever money they have “earned” from trading in the candy…they can go buy a coloring book, markers etc! Thanks for your thoughts girlie
