Some may call me a tightwad, others way use more “pleasant” terms like cheap sake or cheap #ss but either way. I. Don’t. Care.
I am frugal and look for every ounce of value on the dollar that I can without sacrificing the quality. Growing up in a home where my mom was a single parent, we had to make sure we weighed our options carefully when making any purchase. Oh for shoosh sakes, yes! YES! Even underwear for those who were wondering. They had to be form fitting and not “grandma” panties, but of course we watched for good deals to spring up into our life like a tiny petal in the spring.
Moving forward. So about a week or two ago (can’t remember, time just flies in between twitter and parenting) I received an email that lit my fire! It was like this tiny little frugal loving, green passioneer angel had played her gold encrusted harp just for little ol me. (Shhhh. If you are really really quiet, you can hear the sweet harmonious sounds)
Did you hear it? Ah well shoot – better luck next time. That’s okay though because there are TONS of massage therapists and spas in YOUR neighborhood that are totally wanting you and your back. Or business. Or well, all the same I suppose.
Massage Therapy is our health and wellness ally! According to massagetherapy.com…”there’s no denying the power of bodywork. Regardless of the adjectives we assign to it (pampering, rejuvenating, therapeutic) or the reasons we seek it out (a luxurious treat, stress relief, pain management), massage therapy can be a powerful ally in your healthcare regimen.
Experts estimate that upwards of ninety percent of disease is stress related. And perhaps nothing ages us faster, internally and externally, than high stress. While eliminating anxiety and pressure altogether in this fast-paced world may be idealistic, massage can, without a doubt, help manage stress.”
That’s amazing. Bottom line, our reasons do not matter, it can really help with many health conditions and especially, stress. With the holidays coming – what better way to stay balanced, calm and happy than to invest in a massage for yourself or someone you love? Our friend Mr. Wiki (Wikipedia) defines it “Investment is putting money into something with the hope of profit” (Love that mr Wiki – so spot on).
When focusing our attention and energy on creating a healthier self, we not only benefit our own lives, but those around us – i.e. profit. The holiday season can be filled with happiness, laughter and love but there’s usually a good dose of stress right in the mix. So whether you are “investing” in your own massage or treating someone you love to this choco-licious treat – it truly is a gift worth giving. Often we get carried away with the monetary side of things, large and abundant presents and even gestures that shout “extravangant” but really? It’s all those small things that can add up to one fabu-tastic gesture of love. We all need to breath, smile and relax and that is what some of us fail to remember or act upon during this stressful time of year.
A massage or any relaxing spa treatment, is waiting in your neighborhood…just for you. Or for your friend or neighbor or a special family member. Maybe there is someone you know personally that seems a little”down” this year, someone who cannot seem to escape the feeling of anxiety, someone who needs a break, or just some one who you know deserves a little TLC. Grab a gift card for them – share the gift of relaxation this Christmas. It might just change a person’s life.
Here are some pics from our girl’s night out at the spa when my sister (who refused to get into any pics bc “she didn’t want to be on my blog” ), my sister in law and my daughter and I all went for our mini pampering! It was an hour of indulgence, an hour of relaxing with the girls, and an hour to just release and enjoy while sipping fresh sparkling cranberry juice with whole berries!
Happy Relaxing!!!! Aaaaah……

How fun! You need to make sure you let your other bloggy friends know next time there’s an event like this!
I’m always up for a girls night out that involves pampering! And you know I’m always willing to be in your pictures…even if M does decide to photoshop us!
Oh yeah!! I will let you in on it next time!!! That would be so fun – photoshop or not!!!
Excellent idea! Now off to rethink my holiday gift giving list, to see who in my family would love a pampering session. (Actually, that would be me!)
LOL! Maybe they will have a buy 1 get 1 FREE!!!! Woo Hoo
You so deserve it Lisa!!!
