As you may already know (cause you’re smart like that!), I am a regular contributor for Modern Hippie Mag – an online resource for gettin your green groove on! I feel so honored to be a part of their “eco-clan” and have been amazed at the talented individuals I have met through my writing with them.
One such person, who happens to be the owner of it all with his fab wife Jaszy, is Steve McAllister! Talk about talent – these two put the “t” on both ends of the word…and just look at what Steve is up to! I was amazed when I watched his videos and I thought you might be too! Here’s to Steve getting to Atlanta!!

Artist Steve McAllister wants to raise a million dollars to dig wells for people around the world without access to clean water. The multi-talented artist is hoping that his Atlanta audition for the America’s Got Talent TV show will bring him closer to his goal. McAllister says that if he wins the competition, the entirety of his winnings will go to charity:water, a non-profit organization that specializes in providing access to clean water for those who need it.
To engage Americans in his endeavor, the artist has released a series of ten videos through YouTube, nine of them being songs he is considering as audition pieces. He is encouraging people to vote for which one they like best as well as donating to the cause.
“Whether I win the competition or not,” McAllister says, “people still need water, and there are almost a billion people in the world without access to it. America is overflowing with talent. I’d like mine to go toward something greater than simply entertainment.”
McAllister is asking for donations to be made to his PayPal account at writetheworld@yahoo.com. The first $500 will go toward paying for the trip to the audition, and whatever is left over will be donated to charity:water.
“I’ve got one week to make a big difference in the world,” said McAllister. “I don’t know if I’ll even make it through Round One of the audition, but I’m gonna do what I can to make sure that no one goes thirsty. If you can’t send money, send the message.”
