Can you reuse the same liquid? That would make it a pretty frugal option!
Totally true Lisa! It may lose some potency over time but I would guess that it might be fine for a few rinses if refrigerated! It really is frugal with tea costing only a few dollars and when I used to have professional highlights put in, it was WAY more than that….and that was years ago. I just love that there’s no chemicals involved!
What a great reminder!! A long time ago I used to buy a chamomile shampoo from Body Shop – then they stopped making it. (okay this was ages ago) I will definitely try this idea!
Oh yay Kelly! I am thrilled to hear that
Definitely come back and let us all hear how it looks on ya girlie!
I bought some tea today on sale just for this! Will try it this week…
Awesome Helga!! I can’t *wait* to hear your thoughts! Let me know how it works for you!
The recipe calls for chmomile flowers, where do you get chamomile flowers? Any suggestions. This would be great cuz I’m a natural blonde and this time of year, just before summer, my hair looks drab. I’d love a pick-me-up to hold till summer. How long does this tea-wash last?
Kelly
I like Mountain Rose Herbs online! Here is a link to their chamomile flowers – http://www.mountainroseherbs.com/bulkherb/c.html
It should last a few months when stored in the refrigerator! Or you could just do single uses! Thanks for asking this – great question! My hair is also ash blonde and just keeps getting darker, especially in the winter and I refuse to color it. This is a great natural way to go huh! (you can also try tea!)
Thanks Lynn, I am familiar with mountain rose, but I have tooo many sources and no organization, to what they offer.
I was wondering if I had to go into NYC to Chinatown, where I get herbs and stuff–this is so much better. Thank you for responding.
