What Happens in the Bathroom, Stays in the Bathroom!

Ahhh…. There is quiet in the Cottrell house this morning. I don’t expect it to last. My Bean is at school and Bubby is sleeping – for now. What an interesting couple of weeks we have had! Bubby arrived Monday, April 25th at 3:45 pm and he has had our world turned upside down ever since! I do believe that I have forgotten more about newborns than I remember, but it is getting better as we go. And sometimes I even have a minute or two to get my social media fix and keep an eye on my favorite green momma!

I absolutely had to laugh when I read Lynn’s Tuesday Tip: Reduce Your Shower Time. My husband and I are not ones for long showers anyway – it is an added incentive that the water in our town is outrageously expensive. However, Bean likes the acoustics of her bathroom and she puts on mini concerts in there every chance she gets. Our idea of reducing her shower time used to be to stand at the bathroom door pounding away and screaming, “Bean! You have the smallest body in the family! You can wash faster than that!”

Now I have a new weapon in my arsenal: Bubby. Seeing as Bean is super protective of our new addition, I use this to my advantage at shower time. I try to plan Bubby’s sponge bath to coincide with or immediately follow Bean’s shower. Why? She loves to help and hates to miss it, so I put her on the spot to take a quick shower or I will give him a bath without her. Amazing! She is so much faster now!

I, on the other hand, am spending much more time “in the shower” these days. When John has Bubby, I see no reason to rush through my quiet/alone time. I am just waiting for John to realize that the water isn’t running the majority of the time and bust me for hiding out in the bathroom!
