**We have a GIVEAWAY!!!
“Dr. Josh Axe is a wellness physician, popular radio show host and coveted national speaker committed to setting people free from their health problems so they can live their lives to their fullest potential.”
I am excited to tell you about this fabulous cookbook that I was able to review from the Doc, called “The Real Food Diet Cookbook”
This cookbook not only contains over 130 recipes that taste yummy, but they are not those crazy recipes with 17 ingredients (half of which we don’t even have in our cupboards)…nope. It’s all the good healthy stuff that all of us love and probably have anyway! I love that his recipes also have big colorful pictures that make your mouth water too! I mean really, how many people can make homemade ketchup look *that* good?
The Real Food Diet Cookbook goes way beyond recipes though! Dr Axe educates and informs in a way that’s light, entertaining and easy to understand. The entire first section is devoted to real food vs. fake food, section 2 is what’s hot and what’s not, section 3 is all about the ABC’s of cooking, equipment, and label reading and other great topics like “less that/more this” and the food matching guide.
If your looking to really add healthy, nutritional and yummy new recipes and learn as you go – then this book is a must! I am so glad I have it and have already been making all kinds of tasty stuff! It’s a great fit for a family since it’s so kid-friendly! In fact, just look at all the symbols he labels next to every recipe – making it convenient to see who and what it’s designed for! Love it!
So since it’s a smoochy, good lovin kind of day to day a.k.a Valentine’s Day!! Which by the way if you don’t know this, you just might be in big trouble. Not to worry – still time for a nice backrub by candlelight and soft music! In honor of Valentine’s Day….check out Dr Axe and his 5 Top Aphrodisiac Foods!!
Chocolate
After all who doesn’t really love this sweet treat? Chocolate has long been considered a top aphrodisiac. A stimulant in chocolate, called phenylethylamine, is attributed with the aphrodisiac appeal of chocolate acting as a stimulate. This provides the ‘high’ feeling associated with a rush of endorphins.
Asparagus
That’s right, asparagus. While it doesn’t seem sexy this little food is not only phallic in shape the high levels of vitamin E it contains stimulate sex hormones leading to increased sexual desire and performance.
Raw Oysters
There’s just something about raw oysters that raises the sex drive. Whether it is because of its well known reputation as an aphrodisiac (the power of suggestion) or the high levels of zinc it contains I don’t know but either way raw oysters are a definite in this meal. Zinc plays a vital role in testosterone production which is said to be vital in the female sex drive.
Raspberries and Strawberries
These red fruits are high in vitamin C and perfect for dipping in warmed, melted chocolate. The rd color is the color of love adding passion and desire to the mood.
Wine
Wine in moderation is a great aphrodisiac. It helps you to relax a bit and become closer to your own senses. Wine is a great addition to your dinner. Don’t forget red wine is rich in resveratrol a key component in the fight against free radicals.
P.S. Happy VDay!

Favorite foods, huh? I could go on about them all day! I love fresh bread, warm from the oven, paired with either with honey or olive oil. Crisp potato wedges with garlic and rosemary, the first crop of spring asparagus steamed to just tender, chanterelles sauteed lightly in butter and paired with mild baby brie. Freshly squeezed blood orange juice, stovetop popcorn, the first cookie out of the oven.
I think I’m hungry. I’m going to go find something to eat now!
Hey, my favourite foods are berries, bananas, avocado, beans, trout and tempeh.
